This privacy policy explains how Jon Harrison Graphic Design (“we”, “us”, “our”) collects and uses personal information when you visit jonharrisondesign.co.uk or get in touch with us through it.
Who we are
Jon Harrison Graphic Design is the controller of the personal information described in this policy. If you have any questions about it, or about how we handle your information, please email hello@jonharrisondesign.co.uk.
The information we collect
When you contact us. If you use the contact form on our website, we collect your name, company name and email address, and any phone number, subject and project details you choose to give us. If you email us directly, we receive your email address and whatever you include in your message.
When you visit our website. Like most websites, our web server automatically records basic technical information about each visit: a partially anonymised IP address, the date and time, the page requested, the referring page and your browser type. We use this only to keep the website secure and working properly.
We do not use analytics, advertising or tracking tools, and we do not build profiles of visitors.
How we use your information
- To reply to your enquiry and, if you would like to work with us, to prepare a quote and provide our services. We rely on our legitimate interest in responding to enquiries and, where relevant, on the steps needed before entering into a contract with you.
- To keep our website secure and diagnose problems, using the server records described above. We rely on our legitimate interest in protecting our website and its visitors.
We will not add you to a mailing list or send you marketing without your consent, and we never sell your information.
Cookies
Our website does not set cookies when you browse it. Cookies are used only when a site administrator logs in to manage the website; these are strictly necessary for that purpose and do not affect visitors.
Third-party services
Google Fonts. Our website uses fonts provided by Google. To display them, your browser connects to Google’s servers, which means your IP address is shared with Google. Please see Google’s privacy policy for details of how Google handles this information.
Social media. Our website includes links to our Instagram and Facebook pages. These are simple links: no information is shared with those services unless you click them, after which their own privacy policies apply.
Who we share your information with
We use a small number of trusted service providers, who process information on our behalf and only in line with our instructions:
- IONOS, which hosts our website on servers in the European Economic Area.
- Google, which provides our email service (messages sent through the contact form are delivered to us by email) as well as the fonts mentioned above.
Some of these providers may process information outside the UK. Where they do, it is protected by appropriate safeguards, such as UK adequacy regulations or the UK International Data Transfer Agreement. We may also disclose information where the law requires us to.
How long we keep your information
- Enquiries: messages sent through the contact form are not stored on our website. We keep enquiries in our email for as long as we need them to deal with your enquiry and any work that follows, and we delete enquiries that do not lead to any work within two years.
- Server records: kept by our hosting provider for a limited period, currently around two months, and then deleted.
Your rights
Under UK data protection law, you have the right to ask us for a copy of the personal information we hold about you, and to ask us to correct it, delete it, or restrict or stop our use of it. You may also have the right to receive it in a portable format. To make a request, please email hello@jonharrisondesign.co.uk. We will respond within one month.
If you are unhappy with how we have handled your information, please contact us first so that we can try to put things right. You also have the right to complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office (ICO), the UK’s data protection regulator, at ico.org.uk or on 0303 123 1113.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. The date at the top of this page shows when it was last changed.
